CALPUFF MetFiles
Input meteorological data files (3 Dimensional metfiles) for CALPUFF
We can help you to prepare 3D (Three Dimensional) MetFiles for CALPUFF for your modelling domain running CALMET for you.
CALMET can be run in
-
No observation mode
Here we run CALMET only with 3D data tiles prepared covering your computational domain. 3D data tiles will be prepared based on WRF,MM5 or TAPM runs. We use most appropriate grid resolution depending on the chracteristics of your computational domain.
-
Observations only mode
Here we run CALMET incorporating all available surface and upper air observations
-
Hybrid mode
Here we run CALMET incorporating all available surface and upper air observations initialising CALMET with 3D data tiles prepared based on WRF, MM5 or TAPM runs
CALMET input files
Geophysical data files
We use
-
High resolution (9 DEM) topography data obtain from AUSLIG-Geo Science Australia to generate terrain data over your grid.
-
Australian land information data developed by CSIRO to generate land use data over your grid.
Surface meteorological data files
We use
-
Hourly/half hourly/10 minute surface meteorological data obtain from Australian Bureau of meteorology for bigger grids. Other available on-site data clients provide
-
TAPM (CSIRO’s The Air Pollution Model) generated data for near source modelling and to resolve meso-scale meteorological features such as topographic influence
Upper air data files over water data files
We use
-
Upper air (Radiosonde, twice daily) meteorological data obtain from Australian Bureau of meteorology for bigger grids + TAPM generated hourly upper air data
-
TAPM generated data for smaller grids
-
Precipitation data files. Rainfall data obtain from Australian Bureau of meteorology to prepare precipitation data files
